COMP10001 - Foundations of Computing
Overview
Generally a decent subject, first you go through the basics of python syntax then some very basic algorithms.
Difficulty
Low
Pros
- Teaching staff were all knowledgeable and very approachable to any questions.
- Projects were well thought and engaging (e.g. the last project involved a competition aspect against the rest of the cohort)
Cons
- A bit slow pace, felt like too much time was allocated to just learning syntax and the first few projects were fairly trivial
COMP10002 - Foundations of Algorithms
Overview
First introduction to algorithms and C, pace is alright and learning C was a great break from python.
Difficulty
Low/Medium
Pros
- Well taught subject that goes through learning C and algorithms
- Engaging teaching staff and passionate lecturer
- Projects were interesting and allowed for elaborate extensions
Cons
- Rare subject with not any con I can think of
